"I am the wheat of God. I must become the bread of Christ." -St. Ignatius of Antioch

Charismatic Prayer Group

“Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord;

Let us greet him with thanksgiving;

Let us joyfully sing psalms to him.”

(Psalm 95)

All are invited to join the Charismatic Prayer Group that meets in the Church

every Thursday evening from 7 – 8:30 PM.

We gather to worship God with songs and psalms,

to hear a teaching about the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst,

to probe Scripture for instruction or prophecy,

to pray for the charismatic gifts of the Spirit,

and to receive prayers of healing for all our needs,

    whether spiritual, physical, emotional.

During the past year, we have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit working in our midst, as members witness how they [or others they’ve prayed for] have been inspired, transformed, healed in varying ways by answered prayers.  We do not boast of our own efforts, but give credit where it is due:  “The Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Holy Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26)

We rejoice in our unity, as we recognize that the charismatic gifts are not given for our own use, but for the “common good.”   These gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.  Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can change the world!  What happened on Pentecost can happen now, to all of us.
